A drama documentary for Radio 4's Afternoon Play about cycling, jazz, competition and comradeship by Lance Woodman with original music by Soweto Kinch.


An original drama-documentary commissioned and produced by BBC Radio Drama.


The first broadcast of the play was on 4th July 2007 at 2:15pm (The Afternoon Play). An extract from the play was featured on Pick of the Week on July 8th.


Clive is having a bad time. Then Billy turns up out of the blue. A bike ride with an old mate turns into something much more important as they hit the climb.


The drama is counterpointed with a documentary interview with musician Soweto Kinch. Soweto composed and recorded music especially for The Climb.
